Ayre Acoustics

About this resource

Ayre Acoustics has designed and built audio equipment since 1993, when Charles Hansen founded the company. Its official company page describes hand assembly in Colorado and traces development from early amplifiers and preamplifiers to digital playback equipment. The contact page currently locates the business in Niwot, while the company narrative retains an older Boulder manufacturing reference; the broader Colorado identity is clear without assuming both addresses describe the same present facility. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

Ayre identifies fully balanced, zero-feedback circuitry as a recurring design principle, with particular attention to power supplies. The company page links white papers on USB DAC technology and its MP digital filter. The homepage also describes the Double-Diamond output stage and the 2026 Twenty finale changes to its MX-R and VX-R power amplifiers. The homepage specifies increased capacitance in the revised amplifiers and an updated VX-R input stage matched to the MX-R. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

The catalogue separates analogue and digital products, preamplifiers, power amplifiers, headphone amplification and accessories, with R, 5, 8 and 9 Series navigation. Current homepage entry points include the PX-8 phono preamplifier, EX-8 integrated hub and Twenty amplifier family. The upgrades section is relevant to owners following revisions of earlier designs, while the dealer finder provides a route to demonstrations rather than relying on quoted listening impressions alone. ^{[1] [2] [3]}
