About this resource
Accuphase Laboratory is a Japanese audio-electronics company based in Yokohama. It was established in Tokyo in 1972 as Kensonic Laboratory, creating the Accuphase brand, then moved to its present city the following year. Its first releases were separate preamplifier, power-amplifier and FM/AM tuner products; the company adopted the Accuphase Laboratory name in 1982. [3]
Amplification remains a substantial part of its catalogue, with separate power amplifiers and preamplifiers alongside integrated models. The company history records the introduction of AAVA volume control in the C-2800 preamplifier in 2002 and identifies the A-300 as a pure Class A monophonic power amplifier. Digital sources, tuners, power supplies and a phono cartridge broaden that electronics-focused range. [2] [3]
The current product index provides useful starting points: the E-series integrated amplifiers, C-series preamplifiers and DP-series disc players sit alongside digital processors and the DG-78 digital voicing equalizer. A separate product museum distinguishes historical equipment from the current catalogue. Accuphase also directs overseas enquiries to local distributors and warns that parallel-export Japanese-market equipment may not meet the safety requirements of its destination country. [1] [2]
