Schiit Audio

About this resource

Schiit Audio began in 2010 with the original Asgard and Valhalla headphone amplifiers, later expanding into DACs, preamplifiers and speaker amplifiers. Its current company page states that chassis and transformers are made in California, circuit boards are produced in Corpus Christi, and final production takes place in San Antonio or Corpus Christi, Texas. ^[1]

The company identifies discrete analogue topologies such as Nexus and Continuity, multibit digital-conversion architectures and the Unison USB interface as engineering areas. Its preamplifier discussion also highlights relay-ladder volume control. Those technologies apply to particular designs rather than every box carrying the brand, and their names do not themselves establish an independent listening advantage. ^[1]

The catalogue offers distinct entry points for different systems: Magni and Jotunheim in headphone amplification, Modi and Bifrost in conversion, Vidar and Aegir in speaker amplification, and Saga and Freya in preamplification. Mani and Skoll address phono playback, while Loki and Lokius provide EQ. Gaming products, plug-in upgrade cards, accessories and explicitly labelled preorder or B-stock sections show that function, compatibility and condition should be separated when reading the current product list. ^{[1] [2]}
