About this resource
MOON by Simaudio identifies 1980 as the start of its independent Canadian audio business. Its company page states that products are designed and hand-assembled in Boucherville, Quebec, keeping engineering, assembly and quality control closely aligned. The catalogue includes integrated amplifiers, network players, DACs, preamplifiers, power amplifiers, phono stages and headphone-listening equipment rather than a single source or amplifier category. [2]
The current range is structured around Compass and North. Compass is described as the entry point, while North represents the more ambitious engineering tier. MiND 2 is the proprietary streaming platform, accessed through the MOON MiND Controller app. The company also describes MDCA distortion-cancelling amplifier technology and MOON Hybrid Power, a supply arrangement designed for stable, low-noise power delivery; these are stated engineering aims rather than independent listening conclusions. [2]
The North catalogue provides concrete system-building examples: 641 combines preamplifier and power amplifier functions, 681 supplies network playback and DAC conversion, and 791 combines network player, preamp, analogue control and a phono stage. Larger 861 amplification and 891 network-player/preamplifier models form additional options. These combinations clarify whether a visitor needs an integrated component, a digital front end or separate control and power amplification. [1]
