AVM Audio
German manufacturer offering integrated and separate amplification, streaming/CD systems, phono stages and loudspeakers. Its AVM 30.3, Inspiration, Evolution and Ovation S families include both component-based hi-fi and all-in-one approaches, with design and production kept in-house.
About this resource
AVM Audio describes its products as handcrafted in Germany since 1986. Its company page states that design, development and manufacturing take place in its own Southern German factory, with selected parts such as circuit boards, front panels and transformers sourced from nearby suppliers. The stated philosophy favours straightforward circuits with clearly defined component roles, alongside attention to appearance and usability in a home. [2]
The catalogue spans integrated amplifiers, preamplifiers, power amplifiers, media players, turntables, speakers and power conditioners. AVM organises these across AVM 30.3, Inspiration, Evolution and Ovation S levels. Streaming is a recurring element rather than a separate accessory category: the Ovation AS XL combines analogue amplification, digital signal processing and AVM’s X-Stream Engine in one integrated component. [1]
The compact AS 2.3 and CS 2.3 systems and CB 2.3 speakers offer one route through the range, while the CS 8.3 S illustrates the larger all-in-one streaming/CD-receiver approach. Vinyl listeners have another entry through the PH 3.3 and PH 5.3 phono preamplifiers, presented with solid-state and tube alternatives. These categories make the connection between playback sources, amplification and system scale more useful than comparing model numbers alone. [1]
