Revel
Loudspeaker brand founded in 1995 around Harman engineering and a measurement-led development approach. Its official account combines anechoic measurements and double-blind listening tests with Acoustic Lens waveguides, while the range addresses in-room, architectural and outdoor applications.
About this resource
Revel was founded in 1995, with its history describing access to the engineering knowledge and facilities of Harman International. The brand focuses on loudspeakers and frames development around acoustic accuracy, measurement and listening tests. Its technical account explicitly names anechoic-chamber measurements and real-world double-blind tests, providing a stated method rather than only a subjective description of an intended sound. [1]
Recurring technologies include Acoustic Lens waveguides and high-linearity excursion transducers. The range history traces changes in tweeter waveguides, cone materials and cabinet shaping across Ultima, Performa and Concerta generations. PerformaBe is described with beryllium tweeters and Deep Ceramic Composite midrange and woofer cones. The timeline distinguishes successive waveguide generations and identifies both bookshelf and floorstanding implementations of the PerformaBe family. [1]
The catalogue’s applications extend beyond freestanding stereo speakers. Architectural products address integrated installation, while Extreme Climate products bring another set of requirements for outdoor use. The PerformaBe story also includes a centre-channel model, linking the family to home theater as well as stereo. For a first visit, the about-page timeline explains how these families differ; the dealer link offers a route to locally supported products and demonstrations. [1]
