PSI Audio
PSI Audio is a Swiss maker of active studio monitors using analogue control, phase compensation and individual calibration. Its AVAA active bass absorbers address low-frequency room resonances independently of the playback signal chain, complementing rather than replacing other acoustic treatment.
About this resource
PSI Audio developed from Swiss precision-electronics company Relec, whose history begins in 1977; the PSI Audio brand dates to 2003 in its company timeline. It makes active monitoring systems for recording, mastering, broadcast and other professional settings. The company states that loudspeakers are hand-built in Switzerland and individually calibrated, with a frequency-response sheet supplied for each unit. [1] [2]
Its monitor engineering emphasises analogue operation rather than internal DSP correction. Adaptive Output Impedance monitors transducer behaviour, while Compensated Phase Response is an analogue phase-compensation network. The technology page also describes Class G/H amplification and drivers matched to the cabinet and electronics. Individual calibration and the supplied response sheet are part of the company’s stated quality-control process. [2] [1]
AVAA is a separate room-acoustics product family: internal microphones and controlled actuators create a low-impedance acoustic load that absorbs bass energy. The current C214 is specified for 15–160 Hz and needs power but no music-signal connection or room-calibration routine. Its purpose is shortening low-frequency resonance decay; the company explicitly says it does not replace mid/high-frequency treatment or provide sound isolation. [3]
