High End Audio Repair
Brooklyn service business associated with technician Ben Jacoby, covering high-end amplification, digital sources and analogue playback equipment. Its website lists repairs, turntable setup, custom chassis and upgrades, and separately identifies manufacturer-authorised service claims rather than treating every repair as warranty work.
About this resource
High End Audio Repair operates as Hear LLC in Brooklyn, New York, and presents repair and custom-upgrade work by Ben Jacoby. Its service list includes amplifiers, preamplifiers, phono sections, CD players and transports, DACs, tonearms, turntables and tuners. It is a service resource for existing equipment rather than a loudspeaker manufacturer, review publication or general used-equipment marketplace. [1]
Jacoby’s biography describes an electronics career beginning at Loral Electronic Systems, followed by Bell Labs and audio-retailer service roles. It connects his technical background with vacuum-tube design and modification, and describes the establishment of High End Audio Repair after Stereo Exchange closed its service department. His service roles included refurbishing tube McIntosh and Marantz equipment at Vintage Audio and managing the service department at Stereo Exchange. [2]
The homepage distinguishes manufacturer-authorised repairs from non-warranty work and states experience with components whose manufacturers no longer provide support. Audio Research and Jeff Rowland are named in its authorised-service description. Custom services include troubleshooting, turntable setup, upgrades and chassis or faceplate work. Policies, rates and shipping have separate sections, useful because repair scope and logistics differ from buying a new component or receiving an automatic warranty replacement. [1]
