Neumann was founded in Berlin in 1928 by Georg Neumann, initially developing microphones alongside equipment such as phonograph cutting machines. It became part of the Sennheiser Group in 1991 and retains its company headquarters in Berlin. The modern catalogue extends across recording and monitoring. Neumann introduced its first KH studio monitor in 2010, carrying forward the Klein + Hummel tradition of powered loudspeakers and active crossovers.
