Its catalogue spans sources, amplification and loudspeakers, with proprietary modeling, digital filtering and time-alignment technologies connecting individual components to complete systems.
About this resource
Goldmund was founded in France in 1978 and initially released the T3 servo-controlled tonearm. Its official history records relocation to Geneva, Switzerland in 1980, followed by turntables, electronics and loudspeaker development. The history includes the Studio and Reference turntables, followed by Mimesis electronics and the Apologue loudspeaker. [1] [2] [3]
The present homepage covers digital and analog home-audio systems and highlights speakers including Gaia, Prana, Rhea and Theia. Its technology page describes Proteus LS loudspeaker modeling and Proteus HT room-specific home-theater planning. The latter considers room geometry, listening position, driver placement and system settings, illustrating an approach that extends beyond selling an amplifier or speaker in isolation. [1] [2] [3]
For powered speakers, Goldmund describes software filtering, individual driver amplification and DACs, with Leonardo time correction incorporated into its DSP calculations. Telos is its named amplification technology, while Alize concerns digital-to-analog conversion. These names identify engineering methods and intended functions, not independently established sound-quality rankings. The history and technologies sections are useful companions to the product catalogue, particularly for understanding the relationship between active speakers, processing and a larger multichannel installation.
