Audio Precision
Audio Precision supplies APx audio analyzers and measurement software for engineering and production testing. Its electroacoustic options cover driver characterization, loudspeaker response, impedance and manufacturing faults, making it an equipment-testing resource rather than a consumer listening-room calibration app.
About this resource
Audio Precision provides analyzer hardware and software for testing audio products, including equipment that combines electronics and loudspeakers. Its APx platform supports an engineering workflow in which measurements, reports and automation projects can be shared between platform family members. The electroacoustic documentation addresses both product development and production-line checks, rather than only the final listening characteristics of a finished speaker. [1]
The APX-SW-SPK-RD research-and-development option includes Thiele-Small characterization, impedance analysis and time-gated, quasi-anechoic acoustic-response measurement. The separate APX-SW-SPK-PT production option provides a rapid sweep covering rub-and-buzz detection, selected Thiele-Small parameters and impedance magnitude and phase. A modulated-noise measurement is intended to help detect enclosure air leaks. The production option specifies a single one-second sweep for its core measurements. [1]
Useful entry points include the acoustic-test options page, its measurement-microphone guidance and the waterfall and polar-plot utilities. The latter visualize decay or directional response, but the documentation states that they require the SPK-RD option on the analyzer. Audio Precision also points to GRAS microphones and fixtures for acoustic work, emphasizing that the complete measurement setup includes suitable external hardware as well as software.
