Elusive Disc
Elusive Disc is an Anderson, Indiana retailer founded in 1989, originally specialising in hard-to-find and out-of-print vinyl. Its catalogue now combines physical music formats with turntables, cartridges, phono stages, headphones, amplification and audio accessories.
About this resource
Elusive Disc describes itself as a family-owned company established in 1989 in Anderson, Indiana. Its original focus was out-of-print and difficult-to-find vinyl, which explains the name. The business subsequently broadened into in-print records, audiophile CDs, XRCDs, DVDs and SACDs, together with playback equipment and accessories rather than remaining exclusively a rare-record dealer. [1]
The current music section includes vinyl, CDs, SACDs, XRCDs, Blu-ray Audio and reel-to-reel recordings. It separates collector-oriented material such as imports, limited editions, coloured vinyl and boxed sets from general format and genre browsing. New-release and preorder routes are also prominent, giving record collectors several ways to find a particular edition rather than searching only by artist or album title. [2]
The equipment section addresses both analogue and digital playback. Turntables, cartridges, replacement styli, record cleaners and phono preamplifiers sit alongside DACs, streamers, headphone amplifiers and integrated amplifiers. Its category material references brands including Grado, AKG, Music Hall, Musical Fidelity and Pro-Ject. These are retail catalogue entry points, not a claim that Elusive Disc manufactures those products or that every listed accessory has independently established sonic benefits. [3]
