Audiogon
Audiogon combines an audio-equipment marketplace with discussion forums, price research and member system pages. Its listings span hi-fi, headphones, home theater, vintage equipment and music, with separate routes for private sellers and dealers.
About this resource
Audiogon is an audio marketplace and community whose welcome page traces its activity to the late 1990s. The site brings together buying and selling, equipment-price research and conversations among enthusiasts. Its central Marketplace is accompanied by Forums, a Bluebook price-research service and Virtual Systems, where members can present their equipment and listening setups. [1]
Listings are organized into detailed categories, including amplifiers, preamplifiers, DACs, disc players, turntables, headphones and loudspeakers. Additional sections cover home theater, professional audio, vintage equipment, cables, furniture and music. The buying navigation includes newly listed items and ending auctions; the welcome page distinguishes bidding from buying immediately and links the transaction process to Express Checkout. [1]
The seller side includes a listing workflow and a separate dealer program with an eStore, directory presence and other commercial facilities. That distinction matters because the marketplace contains both individual and business sellers, not a single retailer inventory. For research before a transaction, the Bluebook, forums and member system pages serve different purposes: price context, discussion and examples of complete setups. Seller descriptions remain listings rather than independent platform endorsements. [1]
